Reflecting on a Year of Evolution in Facilities Maintenance

Reflecting-on-a-Year-of-Evolution-in-Facilities-Maintenance

As a leading facilities maintenance solutions company, we began last year with operational goals building on past success. But, 2020 had other plans. While it was a difficult year, it was also a time to embrace opportunities for growth in new and unexpected ways. The ESCFederal service model has always met our clients’ unique operational needs, though, “unique” doesn’t quite begin to cover the needs of our clients—and our industry—in 2020. As we begin 2021, we can’t help but reflect on the many ways the challenges of last year have tested and strengthened our company and the communities we serve. From reopening to reconfiguring, our team is stronger and more hopeful than ever that we can tailor and enhance your operational needs in every way possible.

Specialty Training

While our teams have always taken specialty cleaning and chemical handling training seriously to combat yearly flu, cold, and other viruses, 2020 spurred lockdowns and quarantines that required additional, company-wide training and education for our team. This new training and education directly impacted our clients: we continued to safely and effectively serve our clients and their properties throughout the year. Mandatory Work Hygiene Training was implemented from the top management levels down and the latest guidelines about health safety procedures were shared through educational training, bulletins, and updates from organizations like the CDC, WHO, and OSHA.

Like many other companies, we also implemented a Quarantine Policy that has continued to this day. The health, safety, and well-being of our team members, and in turn your employees and patrons, continues to be our top priority.

Re-Entry Guidelines

As more facilities like shopping centers and commercial offices began re-opening in the spring of 2020, the ESCFederal team knew re-entry guidelines weren’t just part of specific operational plans – they were a requirement for all of our clients. Because some states and localities were more impacted than others, we made a point of sharing baseline re-entry guidelines that could be tailored to each client’s unique operational needs, plus local government and CDC guidelines.

ESCFederal’s goal? To continue to safely return to the places where we work, shop, and play.

A New Normal

As we head into the new year, there is a completely “new normal” in facilities management. Many industries, like Gaming & Resort, were devastated in 2020 – but our team saw hope for a powerful recovery, one that will lead the charge as we enter 2021. We realized that, yes, re-entry guidelines and a tailored, customizable approach to facilities maintenance solutions were imperative to our clients. But, those guidelines and overall management techniques weren’t the only things garnering resurgence across industries: instead, it was consumer confidence. That’s why we’ve shifted our focus to encompass all aspects of your facilities, including the non-revenue driving performance pieces.

Keeping your facilities clean and safe has been and will always be a key part of ESCFederal. 2020 showed us, though, that letting your customers know the same is a critical part of your operations.

Then vs. Now – A Year of Evolution

The year 2020 brought us together inside and outside of the workplace. We’ve learned to be an even more flexible, passionate, and performance-focused company. As we continue to provide quality facilities maintenance services for clients across the country, one thing is abundantly clear when we compare January 2020 to January 2021: our team aligns with your unique operational needs no matter what this year brings.
