Are you Ready for Spring? More Importantly, is Your Facility?

Spring CleaningSpring is in the air! Or, at least it soon will be. Is your facility ready?

After months of snow, salt and slush being tracked into your facility, now is a good time to start planning on deep cleaning for heavily trafficked areas and spring cleaning for hard-to-reach, less accessible areas. A small investment in maintenance now will make sure your facility will look great and operate better whatever the warm weather months may bring.

Carpet and Floors.
Every visitor who sets foot in your building is bringing with them the snow, ice, salt, mud and debris from outside. Spring is also literally in the air as flowers and trees start to bloom, adding dust, pollen and other allergens to the other debris being trafficked through your facility. Seasonal deep cleaning will remove dirt, stains and allergens, rejuvenate the appearance of carpet and tile and prolong the life of your floors.

Pressure Washing.
Has the winter weather left your commercial facility looking dingy and uninviting? Pressure washing will remove the dirt, grime, gum, graffiti, bird droppings and many other stains to help keep your building looking clean, professional and inviting.

Check HVAC units.
Before the warm weather of the summer months, now is the time to clean out chiller tubes, test compressors for leaks, inspect condenser and evaporator coils and other recommended maintenance as recommended by your engineer, manufacturer and/or HVAC professionals.

Air Quality.
Change your air filters. This task should be done monthly, but it is especially important to be done after the winter, when dust has a tendency to build up as people stay shut in more. You should also check for dust in your vents. If you AC units have been turned off for several months, it may need a thorough coil cleaning. AC units that don’t undergo spring maintenance can lead to unpleasant odors, allergens and other symptoms.

Refresh bathrooms.
Even with daily cleaning and precautions, dirt and bacteria build up over time. Deep cleaning will sanitize all restroom surfaces and fixtures, effectively removing build-up of dirt and bacteria and lessening their impact on indoor air quality.
